FC Halifax Town have announced the departure of winger Angelo Cappello after four seasons with the club. Cappello was signed by Chris Millington during his first pre-season in charge and won the FA Trophy with Town at Wembley at the end of his first campaign.

What happened?

The winger made nearly 150 appearances for Town and is a Belize international. Halifax said on social media that Cappello had left the club to explore new opportunities after discussions over a new contract.

Town boss John McGrath told the Courier last week that Cappello had been offered improved terms on a new deal. The club is currently 8th in the England National League, with 70 points from 46 games, and a recent form of WLDDW.

What comes next?

The Shaymen will look to replace Cappello in the upcoming transfer window. Their last result was a 0-1 win against Woking on 2026-04-25.
